Tokyo University Professor is suddenly awoken in the middle of the night by what appears to be an enormous 6 sided dice sitting in his garden. Perplexed by this sudden appearance, the professor, with the help of some locals, set about cracking open the dice to see what's inside with ghastly consequences. Curiosity soon turns to despair as the Professor realizes that he has just unleashed a grudge bearing water demon from the Himalayas that has come to Tokyo in search of his blood!
A mysterious old woman appears before doctor Rasetsu Emma, who has recently lost his son in an accident. She says she can bring Daio back to life. After agreeing to this sinister proposal, Daio returns to his father, but to Rasetsu's horror, he is half decomposed and inhuman. To make him human again, he needs fresh human organs. Rasetsu does everything he can to reincarnate his son, but Daio just turns into a different kind of monster. No one can stop him as he continues to feed his hunger, claiming victim after victim.

The manga is set at a school named the Virgin Mary Girls Academy, where Itsumi Shiraishi, the beautiful daughter of the school's director, recently died. Rumors begin to circulate that the members of the literature club that Itsumi supervised were responsible for her death. With leadership of the club transferring to Sayuri Sumikawa, the club members continue their practice of reading short stories they wrote to each other. The series is about an orphan girl named Midori, whom is taken in (enslaved) by a traveling freak show.
